Xfinity Email - Can receive but not send - intermittent problem

I am having an intermittent issue with sending email from outlook (does not matter what device).  No problem receiving just sending.  Here is the error that I get:

Task 'username@comcast.net - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC67):' The server responded: 421 resomta-po-07v.sys.comcast.net

resomta-po-07v.sys.comcast.net Excessive failed authentication, ESMTP server temporarily not available'

your outbound email settings have the wrong password in outlook.

I checked that and that is not the problem because I have the same issue on the Xfinity Connect App

is it the same 421 error?
421 Error details: http://postmaster.comcast.net/smtp-error-codes.php#421
421 is the server response.

0x800CCC67 is the outlook response which you can reference to Microsoft for Outlook errors. Googling the error code from Outlook in many cases also helps.

No it just said failed to send. The problem seems to have resolved itself because it is now working. I did nothing on my end so I have to assume it is a server issue on your end.

I am also currently not able to send or reply to emails. I'm using the web based email (connect.xfinity.com)

 

It is working on my iPhone using the Xfinity Connect app though.

Now it's working again. Maybe it was just a temporary connectivity issue or something.
