Scrambled emails coming from my email address

I've been told that friends have received scrambled emails from me that I did not send. It's nonsensical:

What do I do to stop these?

A spammer might be sending spoofed emails to them that appear to come from you. They should check the full headers to see where the emails are actually coming from.
