When logging in to my Comcast account I am prompted to provide a cell phone number for password recovery. After entering my number, I cannot proceed because 'This phone number is already associated with another XFINITY account.'
That's because I have multiple email addresses with Comcast but I only have one cell phone. Comcast may want to consider that as I'm sure I'm not the only user experiencing it.
The original intent of the secondary accounts was so that different people in the same household could have their own email account. That's why you can't use the same phone number for more than one of them. It's also about security. Using the same recovery information for more than one account means that if one of them gets compromised, they are all on the block. You can use another email address instead, but it has to be a non-Comcast account, and one that's not already being used for one of the other secondary accounts. More and more online account providers are going to the two-factor authentication process.
