Both of my comcast e-mail accounts are not working right. I use an old version of Eudora for both (windows 7), POP server connection. Has worked fine for years. Last Friday, one stopped connecting (timed out connection) and the other connects and starts downloading messages from 4/1/15 to present. No changes on my part, both just stopped downloading properly. I can send out from both. Any ideas what Comcast changed or if there POP server is down?
I am using Thunderbird 52.8.0 and Comcast POP is working properly here.
In doing some searching, the regular Eudora ceased development in 2006. It became open-source and based on Thunderbird, but that development ended in 2013. The developers now recommend using Thunderbird.
My POP email stopped working recently as well. I'm using a desktop computer running Linux Mint, with a rock-solid email client called Claws Mail. The server ports and other settings never have been changed - they just no longer work, and sending or receiving sessions time out.
Indicates to me that something has changed on Comcast's end.
I'm using Thunderbird and POP stopped workig a few days ago. If I switch to IMAP ir is fine, so clealy this is an issue with Comcast's POP server.
