I had a verification code sent to my comcast email, it was not received at all, but somehow was forwarded to my other email account. Why would this happen? Comcast is supposed to keep a copy of everything it receives before it forwards it, and I do not see it in the Comcast email inbox at all?!
Do you have auto-forwarding enabled in your settings? If so, when you enabled it you should have seen a check-box underneath it that said "Save copy of forwarded emails". Did you check that box?
