Error Message: Permanent Error

For the past 9 months or so, I’ve had an issue with emails bouncing back to sender with an error message:

 

“This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.

Delivery to the following recipients failed permanently:

* cheaamayfield@bellsouth.net

Reason: Permanent Error”

 

I’m not sure why it bounces back with the email “cheaamayfield@bellsouth.net” when that email is no longer active.

 

Most of the time I do receive the email that’s trying to be sent, but the sender will also receive this message.

 

Can anyone give me any insight as to why this may be happening to random people who send me emails?
