Email address to report spam

Recieved a spam/fraud email.  What is the address to forward to Comcast for them to take care of it?  Serious one!

Re: Email address to report spam

Thanks, but these are instructions to report spam email. To report suspicious "phishing" emails, follow these instructions (copied from <http://forums.xfinity.com/t5/Anti-Virus-Software-Internet/Comcast-Email-Phish-or-Legit-How-to-Tell-a...>)

Reporting Phishing Issues
Please take the following steps to help us investigate the phishing email you received:
1) Copy the email, including headers, and paste it into a new email.
2) Add the words "phishing email" in the subject so that it can be easily identified by our Customer Security Assurance team.
3) Send to abuse@comcast.net for further investigation. (DO NOT FORWARD)

A simple forward will not preserve the headers of the original phish mail. Instead the headers will show YOU as the sender.

IF YOU USE AN EMAIL CLIENT, you can forward the message as an attachment. This can generally be done by opening the mail, clicking a drop down arrow next to Forward and choosing As Attachment. This will preserve the headers.

Hope this helps!

How to Report Spam Issues:

Reporting Spam Received in a Comcast Connect Mailbox

Webmail Users

  1. Select the message you wish to report as spam'
  2. Click the Spam button after you select the messages you wish to report

Email Client Users (Outlook Express, Outlook Thunderbird, etc.)

  1. Select the message you wish to report as spam.
  2. Forward the spam message as an attachment to missed-spam@comcast.net.

By sending this information, you help us refine our spam filters for the Comcast email system. This helps to prevent spam in the future.

What if I don't have an "Xfinity Connect" button?

Nor I, Bruce.  The only one I see is in the extreme lower right hand corner of the screen, and if you click on it it takes you back to the Xfinity Home screen.

I think there was a typo.  The step should read Click the Spam button after you select the messages you wish to report.

Is the mail a phishing attempt to get your Comcast sign info or your bank/credit card numbers?

If it is

Please read this Comcast Email Phish or Legit? How to Tell (and rules for posting about your mail) clickable link.

Close to the bottom of the post are directions for reporting it.

Re: Email address to report spam

So, by selecting a spam email and clicking "spam" in my Comcast webmail inbox, am I actually reporting this email to someone? I've been doing that for a very long time, but still continue to get spam from the same sources, particularly one from within Comcast itself that needs to be stopped:

reszmta-po-03v.sys.comcast.net

I have also set up filters to try to block the myriad spam I receive daily from hacked yahoo addresses, but the filters don't work -- the spam still comes through from the same addresses I've attempted to block. There has to be a better way!

Trying to control spam with filters doesn't work very well because spammers are constantly changing the addresses they use to send from.  Clicking on the Spam button doesn't send it to a human being to review.  It helps to educate the spam filters in Comcast as to what you consider to be spam.  But it can take a while to do that because other people may be marking it Not Spam.  Here is a good article about it-------------------------------

Re: Email address to report spam

When I send spam emails as attachments to the missed-spam address I get the following response:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: missed spam

Sent: 9/6/2015 6:51 AM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'missed-spam@comcast.net' on 9/6/2015 6:51 AM

552 5.7.0 Number of MIME parts exceeds maximum permitted

In this instance there were 119 attachments.  When I reduce the number of attachments it still does not work.  I use Outlook from Office 2003.

Plz send me the correct process.

Thx, Jeff

It was really nice of you to do a copy/paste of a sticky post made by Queen-Evie without giving her credit.  It would have been better to provide a link to the post rather than what you did.
