Want to make longer cat5 for camera

Anyone have a diagram on the wiring for the camera? I need to extend it.

Thanks

The easiest thing to do is use a waterproof rj45 connector and then just add whatever length of Ethernet that you need.

I already cut the cable. So that’s out. The technician said it was standard cat5 wiring. Just make a new cable he says.

The xfinity home tech (who was a contracted) said because I rent, he couldn’t install the camera but the regular tech who installed my cable had no issues. Is this normal practice

Depends if it’s outside or not (privacy of other renters) or if a hole needed to be drilled in for power. I assume you’re talking about the xcam2 (white camera).

Comcast came out and replaced with new cameras. No charge.
