online chat shady practice

for two nights in a row, I have been chatting with customer service online to resolve issues surrounding changing the address on my account. last night they caught me off guard when they went into my account and paused the internet to every device named like a computer to end the chat but not show that they disconnected on me. I thought it was a one off with that tech until I was on a chat again tonight for the same issue and another tech tried to pull the same stunt, this time he paused my cell phones as well, luckily for me I was watching for the signs and caught it before the chat disconnected. I just wanted to make sure that others were aware of this tactic that they are using. if you chat status goes to reconnecting during chat, immediately check to see if your devices are paused.
