I just received an alert that a hard inquiry was done on my credit. I disconnected service 2 weeks ago and new place will not be ready for another month. I have been a long time customer as well a a former employee. Since the lapse in service was more than 30 days, I could not do a transfer and I do not live in an area that offers service suspension, which is why I had to disconnect. All the while still having access to my email accounts, all 7 of them. When I went to return the modem a couple of days ago, I was within the time frame to order my new service, which is what I did. Why was my previous account, only disconnected 2 weeks ago not taken into consideration? Not only was I not asked for a deposit, the rep who placed my order got my install fee waived. Very disappointed that previous account history, 2 weeks old, but had service for more than 10 years, was not taken into account.
