When I change my plan, how long does it take for the changes to take effect?

I just changed my plan online. How long does it usually take for the changes to take effect?

 

While I'm asking...the new plan includes Netflix. How does this work? Does Comcast send me a Netflix ID and temporary password? Does it automatically connect to Netflix if I select the app on my X1 box? Something else?
EDIT: never mind about Netflix - I needed to "start my free month" to create my account.

Apparently, the answer is, "about 24 hours" - the service changes have taken effect. (I think. I'll know for sure when I don't see a separate Netflix monthly charge on my future Comcast bills.)

 

EDIT: Six days after requesting the service change, the X1 Netflix app informed me that my "existing Netflix account" (the one I started with my "free month") has been attached to my Xfinity account, and no additional charges will be added to my bill...that is, after I switched from "Premium" to "Standard" Netflix.
