Unauthorized credit inquiry


I signed up for a new service for internet/cable on 01/20/2018. I did not give my SSN while signing up nor did I authorize Xfinity to run a credit check. I got a notification from Equifax that Comcast ran a hard inquiry on 01/20. How do I dispute this inquiry?

Comcast does not need your authorization to pull your credit regarding a transaction that you initiated since they have a legitimate business need to do so. Nor do they have any obligation to notify you. They should have given you the option of making a deposit though.
