Sharing a cable line

I recently got Xfinity wifi, and from day one my internet is dropped multiple times a day and I don't understand why.

I also see that instead of running a dedicated cable line from the pole to my house y'all spliced(splitter) into the cable line going to my neighbors and ran that to my house. I feel that is not the correct way and a new cable should be installed.
