Services still active

I called to have my services cancelled and the woman I spoke with said they would be shut off by midnight on Friday. I am moving out of my apartment the 24 and do not want to be paying for something I'm not using. As of right now the service was not disconnected and is still active. I never received an email confirmation that my service was being cancelled either. I did receive the confirmation of change of billing address for when they said my final bill. I just want to make sure my service is disconnected because i will not be living in my apartment any more.
