I went into xfinity store Sat. 7th to replace a sm box in a bedroom. Was told there was a promotion  reducing monthly bill by $17. A month for two years. We could also get the DVR for free. I had the exact same thing happen to me. Two hours on the phone, took box back to exchange & same thing. Also the woman today told me it was a one year contract. Won't have a tech come because last time I asked three times if there would be a charge they said no. Next bill there was the charge & of course they wouldn't believe me. Hope we can both get this worked out.

As another X1 customer i'm betting you will realy like having the DVR ability and that adds to the features on the Xfinity Stream app. features available too. Do you now have 3 X1 set top boxes? does the DVR work? Is your internet working? have model numbers for your current set top boxes?
