No service in my area?

Hello forum community. I've had a problem getting comcast service on my street. I've put in three service tickets in the last two years. I was told they that no service was in my area but litterally one minute away in at a new house comcast is putting in service. I'm confused.

Currently I have at&t and hate it! I spoken with a comcast contractor that was working at the new house a half a block fron mine and he said call comcast and ask to have a tap placed at my address. Please help me because I want comcast instead of this at&t watered down service.
