New Service

Comcast was out today to install new service.  The pedestal they originally brought to the house is in the front yard.  I have my wire stubbed out of the front of the house and when the technician aarrived he said it was state code that he had to connect service into house within 15 feet of where the electric service comes into the home.  Said they would have to core under driveway to get to the rear of home and cancelled todays installation.    What code states that internet service must be within 15 feet of electric entering the structure?  Is it grounding?  A new ground rod can be placed in the front near the demarc.  Most of the demarcs I see on day to day aren't grounded anyway by comcast techs.

Re: New Service

It is grounding, and using ground rods for installs isn’t acceptable anymore. Your market may vary (but it shouldn’t).
