I'm not authorized to the "xfinitywifi" Hotspots (Performance tier customer)

I'm a performance tier customer, my bills are current, when I use my credentials to log in into these hotspots it redirects me to the Wifi on demand purchase list, phone customer service says that I NEED to plug and activate a modem at HOME if I want to use the REMOTE hotspots! Ridiculous! This wasn't happening before, it happened AFTER I upgraded my plan from Performance starter to Performance just so I could regain full access to the hotspots, please somebody help!
