I received a refund check from xfinity after I closed my account (I moved). After I mobile deposited it into my bank account, the bank reversed the deposit and said that comcast had issued a Stop Payment on the check. Not only did they take the money back out of my account they charged me a fee!
Called Comcast and the rep said I couldn't mobile deposit the check, that I have to take the check to the bank in person to cash it. What kind of baloney is that? I'm afraid to deposit it again and get charged another fee.
What's going on?

They refunded back to my credit card and sent me a check. I didn't notice the refund on my credit card, so I deposited the check into my bank account. Then, bam!, stop payment, $12 fee.
At least they could have notified me ahead of time. It would have saved me 3 hours of time and $12.
