Why does AT&T try to take better care of me than Comcast where I have been for almost 20 years?

AT&T has made an offer to me that'll save almost $50 per month over what I'm paying to Comcast on a monthly basis.  There has been no attempt to find a way to lower my bill, and in addition to triple play, I also have cell service.  I don't want to leave Comcast, but I may not have a choice.
