Unbundling My Services - Downgrading

I am currently paying around $81 for internet and cable including all the fees. I just got off the phone with a retention rep and he stated that if I cut Cable then my internet bill would still be over $100. I’m not sure how this is possible for just internet. It doesn’t seem really fair to not offer me any promotional rate or deal for downgrading to internet. Any advice is welcomed.
