You are absolutely correct! They have the webpages set to where you have to call in and after 3 transfers you finally end up with someone who tells you that deleting anything off your account will cause your monthly fees to go up. Best you can hope for is a $20 "valued" customer discount. By making if impossible to change they retain customers till we get fed up and cut the cord. It will happen very soon for all of us.
