Why can’t Comcast set up a direct email system option for customer service inquiries? Sigh... can I please have a rep email me about cancellation and programming options? I don’t want to live chat with my thumbs and don’t feel like talking on the phone.

They used to have one, way back in the day.  It was horrible.  I don't think there were humans on the other end.  It was like the old Eliza programs (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ELIZA), picking up on key words and responding with canned responses, which usually didn't have anything to do with the question.  It really is better now.

 

No one is going to email you.  But, if you post what you're looking for in cancellation, you'll get some helpful responses here.

I figured I’d just try to save a step since in a lot of posts I see the reps request the poster to send them a private message and handle it there. I’m assuming that’s exactly what will happen with my request, since I’m needing to decrease what I’m currently spending or go to another provider.

You're right, it probably will.  Just don't send an "unsolicited" private message.  It's now considered a violation of the forum guidelines.  You'll need to wait for them to invite a message.
