Not getting appropriate speeds with my Motorola SB6141

I just upgraded my speed to the Extreme 300 and am getting the default 70Mb/s speed.  I believe my modem needs to be reprovisioned and updated with the appropriate boot file.  The modem I use is an SB6141.  Everything is wired through ethernet.

Also, my account is reading extreme 250, when I purchased the extreme 300.  Can someone please update me on this?

Thank you

Re: Not getting appropriate speeds with my Motorola SB6141

Comcast rates the 6141 at "Up to 213 Mbps" (see, so it's not approved for either 250 or 300 Mbps. Using devices not approved for your speed tier tends to produce unexpected results, like getting Performance speeds instead of 250 or 300 Mbps. Use and specify "300 Mbps" or higher to select a device they approve for that service.

For me, "mydeviceinfo" doesn't have 300 Mbps as an option -- it jumps from 250 to 400. Yours may be different. OTOH, Comcast is famous for selling products that don't actually exist.

Hi doppenheimer, I can also set up an appointment for a tech to come out and install one of our modems that we know will be compatible with your services. Please send me a private message with your account information if you would like to get a tech scheduled today.
