Large late fee?

Today I paid my bill on April, 5 which I admit was late, but was a total of $136.05. The automated voice said "your total is $136.05 of which your monthly fee of $52.49 is overdue". The last I paid my bill was Feb, 28, which I paid my regular balance of $52.49. Why do I owe an additional 83.56 for being 6 days late? Is it for something else? If so, I can't find what it's for.
