Internet Only deal for Existing customer

I would like to downgrade my Douple Play service to Internet only. I currently have Performance Plus internet, and want to keep internet service at that level. I called Xfinity, but was not offered much of a deal at all.  I am now seeing good offers w/ 12 month contract for this service, but the further details link clarifies that it is for new residential customers only.  Why can't existing customers take advantage of such deals?

We offer new customers an introductory rate for the first 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years depending upon the offer. I'd be more than happy to review the offers I have available to see if I can do better than what was offered to you before.
