In home service visit charge

 

Hello,

 

I had a signal quality issue, as the signal strength on our modem registered at an unacceptable level. After working through the issue with a rep online, they told us they would send a technican out at no charge. When the technician arrived, he confirmed the signal quality issue with his own equipment and replaced a splitter he was outdated and no longer used on installs, which restored the signal quality. Now, our latest bill has an additional $60 charge on it for an in home service visit. How come I am being charged to restore my signal quality to an acceptable level?

Where was this splitter at exactly? If it was inside your home, then the splitter belonged to you/the owner of the residence, and the charge would be valid. If it is outside, past the demarc point, then that is on Comcast.
