I dont want to cancel but need internet only but cant get a competitive price

I've been a loyal customer but Im downsizing and just need internet only.  I called and was told that new customer pricing wasnt an option and I would have to pay signficantly more.  So Im moving carriers unless I can get first year pricing.  Seems like they have no interest in keeping a loyal customer.  Very disappointing.  Can someone help?

Ok sorry bout the PM.  Please indicate what you can do for internet only.  BTW I suspect eventually I will be back as a cable subscriber but just need internet only.  Thank you.

Lol I was told the same thing they just trap you and keep ripping you off it's a countless endless cycle of paying for s*** you don't need I was told if I dropped all my services except for my internet that I would actually be paying more and I already pay close to 200 a month, "this is freaking ridiculous." And I have been a customer for over 4 years now. I also get charged for inactive unreturned boxes so they say but yet they were returned because we had to exchange them for the newer boxes in store but since we do not have a receipt because this was six months later when we recognized it we are stuck paying it every month. They always find reasons to jack up our bill when I told them I needed something around a hundred a month.
