I do not have an Alternate email address.

All I want to do is access my bill with Comcast.  Throws me into a message to enter alternate email address.  I do not have one and to my knowledge never had one.

I agree that this is a bad feature, but you should be able to ignore that message. I've been ignoring it for over a year. It is not really a security feature because it automatically adds the alternate email and mobile phone as additional ways to sign-in to your account all using the same password. It will allow anyone who has access to your cable service to get the list of all usernames, emails, mobile phone numbers associcated with your account. This feature is one of the reasons I don't want to ever want to use online bill pay.
