Frustrated 20+ year customer over billing increase

Call me crazy but I've been with Comcast( in it's various forms) for over 20 years. Recent call to unhelpful,Customer Support has left me confused. Can someone help explain why rates to add services are not the same as to remove them. Rep did the "fast talk and shuffle numbers" leaving off taxes and fees or HD service etc...


Bill went from $209 to $239, I asked about reducing from XF Premier Triple to XF Premier Double and was told it would lower my bill $10.00 or remove Cinemax/Sports-- sure doesn't work that way if you want to add Phone or channel.  Hey I am not asking from "new subscriber rates".  Just want to pay what I was paying $209/month all-in  -- why have to go thru all the games of canceling, moving to AT&T (suffer slower internet) for 12 months then back to Comcast.


Anyone have ideas on how to proceed?  What worked for you?  Any "magic" words to use?
