Double charged for starting service, Comcast won't refund

I was double charged the deposit for starting service (in addition to having a hard pull on my credit, which the representative explicitly said would NOT be done, but that is a separate issue) and called to have the extra payment refunded. The representative told me this would not be possible unless I FAX them a copy of my credit card statement. This is despite the fact that she can clearly see from her side of the system that I was double charged. I DO NOT understand why Comcast can't just refund me the money that they overcharged me.

It sounds like you need to speak with another billing agent, or wait for a corporate rep here. The extra charge would go to your account though, so that is a plus side of it. Unless you need the money for other things, at the moment.
