Double Internet Speed but Raised Monthly Cost!

I saw the promotion to double the current internet speed around late fall of 2017 and so I decided to take the offer. I reset my modem (called Comcast to send me updated signal on their end) and so my speed doubled from 25 mbps to ~50 mbps. All was fine until in February the bill started to cost me $49.99 instead of $29.99. The $29.99 was originally a promotion offer for 1 year that would end in February 2018. I remember talking to a Comcast customer support agent in October-November last year about any price changes for the Double Speed and she told me that the price wont change to $49.99 (base cost of normal 25 mbps speed) and instead I will be charged $34.99 (a $5 extra charge). I was billed $49.99 for my March usage in the end.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I plan on calling Comcast very soon about the matter and very likely will drop Comcast from the $49.99 price increase.
