I am a new customer to the Xfinity Internet service.
The service was activated on March 17th 2018.
Before I go to a xfinity store, I tried to get the accout setup done online, which did not ask me anything about the SSN or any credit check, but had to avoid that since I need the self installation kit delivered as soon as possible at the new address I just moved into. With online it was getting delayed a bit so I went to the nearest store (717 E El Camino Real Suite 8, Sunnyvale, CA 94087) to set the serivice sooner. The perosn at the counter asked me couple of details and few signatures and He asked me to enter SSN details (I thought its for records sake) and the person neither told me anything about running a credit check nor explained me different ways to open an account. [the person barely spoke anything like he was on drugs or somehting]
After checkng my Equifax credit report, I did see a Equifax credit report from Comcast and felt horrible. How could they not explain to the customer that they will run a credit check . I would have opened the account online or paid a deposit if that did not run the credit check. As a new customer I would not know all these details and the customer specialist is supposed to explain me all the ways to open the account.
Since its a hard run nothing can be done now, atleast if Comcast masks the inquiry it would really be helpful. I am trying to build the credit and do not want this to ruin it.
Thank you in Advance.

Comcast does not need your authorization to pull your credit regarding a transaction that you initiated since they have a legitimate business need to do so. Nor do they have any obligation to notify you. They should have given you the option of making a deposit though.
With that said...
I've asked a Comcast employee to help you. You should expect a reply in this thread.
Hello silly3, the information that (nerdburg) hared is correct. I can request that we have the inquiry removed from your credit report if you believe this was done without your permission and knowledge. To submit the report I will need to verify your account information, can you please send me a private message with your full name, street address, and account number by clicking on my name (ComcastAmir) and then "private message me"?
