Cost of Cable Line Installation

Can I run my own cable from the road to my house and just have a tech do the connections?

I was told be Xfinity that it would be over $2,500 to install 600 feet. I can purchase the cable for under $400.

By the way - I have utility poles going up to the house.

No, it's not just a piece of cable. They would have to extend the cable plant to you. Strand, hardline cable, amp, tap etc. $2500 for 600ft is actually pretty reasonable.
