Charged for self install?

New customer here. Just recently ordered Comcast and had the self install to avoid paying fees since it's not hard to do it. I had the equipment except the modem I'm paying to lease. What I'm confused is why I got charged $30 to self install? It says installation fee but are you serious ? I did it myself I didn't call any rep I didn't need any help yet I have to pay $30 for that????? I was seriously going to get tv service but I'm already disappointed. I undertand a fee had a rep came and helped but to jsut charge me for installing it myself it's confusing
