Beware Scam!

I recently ordered Xfinity wifi and keep getting called by 1-800-266-2278 about collecting a $50 fee to send my new self install router/modem. The man on message says he has shut off my neighbors wifi and needs $50 from me to send self-install modem/router. I called Xfinity, and they don't charge $50, and haven't for years. Beware this scam!!

Either the person is spoofing their number, because that is the 1800 COMCAST main number, or you misunderstood what they were saying.

Hello maura_masters, the information that (JLDOOBLY) shared is correct. That is a Comcast phone number, but you're right we do not charge for shipping these self install kits out to you. If you would like a new modem shipped please reach back out to me here, or you can go into any local Comcast service center and pick one up there free.
