Being charged rental fee for cable modem I own

I am constantly being charged for my cable modem.  I purchased this cable modem years ago and every few months I have to contact support and get the charges removed.  I contact support and they say my modem is a rental and that it will take 10 days to address.  Unacceptable.

Re: Being charged rental fee for cable modem I own

Hi dussan2,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd like to help investigate this further. I'll need to create an equipment research ticket so we can investigate who owned this modem prior to you purchasing it. If we can confirm that this modem did not originally belong to Comcast after the investigation is completed, you should no longer see the charges appear on your account. If for example this modem was owned by a former Comcast customer who never had the chance to return it, then the rental fee for the modem will be valid.

To start the equipment research process, please verify your first and last name, full street address, and the phone number or account number associated with your services in a private message?

To send a private message click on my name "ComcastChe", then click private message me.
