2 year contract increased without being told up front

I was paying $197.91 a month when I called Comcast to lower my bill. I was offered a 2 year contract indicating I would receive a cheaper rate but locked in with a cancelation fee if I terminated. What I wasn't told was it would increase after the first year and now I'm paying more than I had been paying before signing up for the contract. Now I'll get hit with a cancelation fee if I terminate. I've been a customer for nearly ten years and have had no complaints up until this bait and switch.

Would it be cheaper to pay the early term fee and enter another contract?

I just wanted to follow up in case anyone else reads this. Comcast (Ella) did a great job helping find a better plan in the price range I was looking for. A+ customer service.
