Be aware that you will have to pay a monthly fee to use that app.
CBS All Access is not offered on the X1 version of the Prime app. It is only offered on the stand alone version, such as the version available on any smart TV or an Amazon device.
"However, HBO, Cinemax and CBS All Access have restricted their channels through Prime Video on Comcast X1 Xfinity devices. That’s because Amazon’s agreements with HBO and CBS disallow access to their programming through third-party providers."
This is a quote from an article about when Prime was first offered on the X1 back a couple months ago.....one would think that an official Comcast employee would know this.....
Xfinity does not include CBS All Access, but if you want to watch it, you would need to get a ROKU or some other device and hook it to your tv to watch. Xfinity does allow 3rd party streaming as indicated by them having Netflix. It would be nice to see CBS All Access too. I have a feeling Xfinity will have the new Disney streaming service when it becomes available, therefore they should have CBS All Access too.
rns1016, thanks for your feedback about supporting CBS all access. At this time CBS All Access is not available with Comcast. We constantly working to provide our customers with the content they want at a fair price. I'll send your feedback to my leadership! If there are any updates to this we will be sure to update this post.
What about those of us without Amazon Prime? I do not want to pay for Amazon and CBS All access on top of that, which is what Amazon Prime does. The only workaround is ROKU.
If you have the X1 platform and an Amazon Prime account, you can access All Access through the Amazon Prime App(with a subscription)
I appreciate your responses! However, it would be nice if you did not have to buy one service in order to buy another. CBS All Access has its own app and if I had a smart TV, I would use this. No way will I pay Amazon for a service I do not want or need.
Was reading up on this topic and found this old thread. As to the point it is a streaming service like Hulu I would add Netflix is a streaming service and available as an app, my only conclusion is there must be some type of agreement in place or the lack of one.
ViacomCBS and Comcast have made an agreement that will make the CBS All Access app available on the X1 platform. Just like Netflix/Amazon/etc..., it will require it's own subscription.
Nice. I was just dreaming about this today. Any ETA?
"later this year" is all that has been revealed so far.
Sorry I renewed my contract about ten months ago. Why is the Flex box getting Hulu and already has CBS All Access, yet these aren't available on X1 box?
is your contract you are speaking of for X1 services or xfinity instant TV? (any x1 equipment in the home?)
We have a triple play contract till next year (TV, internet and home security). X1 box. Just curious why the internet only subs get the Hulu app and those of us paying more don't get it on our X1 box.
are you speaking of the flex app? you can access a subscription on Hulu on any device connected to the internet (smart phone/tablet, desk/laptop PC, Roku).
X1 boxes are getting CBS All Access later this year. Not sure on Hulu, but there is a sticky thread about Hulu in the forum.
That is not totally true. SOME CBS All Access shows can be seen on primevideo but not all. Picard and Discovery can't be seen on my xfinity tv that I pay $200+ a month for the connection. C'mon guys, you can do better. It's becoming more and more tempting to just sign up for Hulu and Netflix and all the other channels of interest to me instead of paying for music channels, Spanish channels and other stuff I have no use for.
So, let me ask this. If I end my free trial of all access thru amazon prime, I could get all the shows on cbs all access on my tv thru xfinity? I should be able to get all channels on cbs all access app?
I have the same problem with Star Teck Picard, but not with Star Trek Discovery. Additionally, if I use Apple TV then I don't have the problem I experience through Xfinity. Lastly, trying to get an answer from Xinity is very difficult because no one knows what the problem is I am describing (once you get through the auto-bots, which is no easy task either).
I wish they would do something or answer these questions?
I have also been waiting a long. Time for cbs all access to be put on the X1 platform about twice a week I pull up the existing apps on my tv just to see if Comcast has already put cbs all access on my tv We only have about 4 months left in the year Comcast you need to get this on X1 in the next month or so in the months ahead it's going to get cold I will be spending a lot of time straming a lot during the winter time I already have spent a lot of time streaming on netfix Hulu and peacock that I have on the X1 platform and cbs all access would be another great app like the three that I already have on X1 so lets make this happen
I 'm rooting for you guys to get this app onX1 and just to let you know I love the . Xfinity services that I have with your company cable internet and streaming thanks a happy customer
Now that the CBS AA app is available on the X1 devices can I use my APPLE TV 'credentials' to log in on my XG1V4? I have CBSAA & SHOWTIME through APPLE.
