Trutv is shown in my line up but it says not authorized ..and my bill has gone from $114 to $153...why?
Welcome to the Xfinity Forum. We apologize for the confusion. Sudden increases in fees are usually at the end of a promotional/ discount period. Discounted pricing only lasts for a limited period of time and does eventually shift to Everyday Price. We offer customers an introductory discounted rate for the first 6 months, 1 year, or 2 years depending upon the offer. After the introductory period offer expires, the price does go to what we call Everyday Price or regular rate. I can assist with a review of lower-priced offers that may be available to your account. Please send me a private message and include your full name, service address, and account number so I can assist you.
I have Trutv in the Boston area.
We just lost the channel today 5/8/18
This channel disappeared from our lineup today. Found out by their chat that it was discontinued from Xfinity entirely on the broadcaster's end. Not sure of the validity of this but that's what happened apparently.
Not true. Watching Trutv right now.
I have 210+ not listed there anymore
I changed plans under the assumption that trutv was available - it is not. I'd like trutv to be returned to my current service. Thanks. Happy mother's day!
I also upgraded to a new package and was told that TruTV was part of the line up. It shows up as a "channels free to me" in the guide but when I tune in I get the "You need to subscribe: message. I've spoken to comcast several times, was told that it is part of the channel line up, but that there is a contract dispute on the provders end. I think it's all BS at this point. Of the 200+ channels I pay for, I only watch maybe 10 and TruTV was one of them.
Xfinity,
Be advised, you just lost a customer today. You not only upped my bill $20 but you took away the only 3 channels we watched. Disney, TruTV and Food network, and no, I'm not going to pay almost $50 more to get 1 or two of them back. And no, i'm not interested in the other 500 channels you feel like rattling off in my ear cause I'm not getting TruTV. For the rest of ya. You can get all three of them through AT&T with Direct TV now for $35. Comcast, I am gone, I may not come back, <Edited for violating forum guidelines: "Inflammatory">
We lost it too. I loved the channel for Impractical Jokers and a few others. I am a little ticked off. I am paying 130 A MONTH for Comcast to just decide they are going to change my lineup? I think I may go back to Dish or Direct tv. Better packages and no extra charge for HD.
Please let us know when you find another carrier for internet. That is an issue we are having.
Again, AT&T, They are doing a 3 month special. No contract. $10 a month for 60 channels which include Tru TV, Disney Jr. Cartoon Network, Nick, Food Network, Spike and many more. We are using our phones as mobile hot spots for the laptop to get around the need for Xfinity's internet. All and all, my wife and I are $90 a month which includes unlimted call and text on two phones, 16G of data and unlimited streaming of Their Direct TV Now. You can stream to your TV directly through your phone via mirroring or using a MHL cable. <Edited for violating forum guidelines: "Inflammatory"> I have been through many cellphone companies and AT&T has never done me wrong. Oh and our plan, It's all prepay! No contract! <Edited for violating forum guidelines: "Inflammatory">
I wonder why my post was deleted
Yeah, they pulled a Carbanaro on us. I contacted an Executive Customer Relations person and got nowhere.
I noticed I didnt have Tru tv anymore. I kept trying to watched one of my favorite shows impratical jokers and couldnt get the channel anymore. I called and the representative says I have to upgrade to another package. I upgrade just to have this channel. I check my channels and again no Tru tv. It states on screen have to order subscritption. Of course, I call back. This representative says xfinity will no longer carry Tru tv. Im so disappointed.. They wont even stream it. Not happy with comcast. I love the shows on this channel. They could have at least let their customers know. I pay the same price and you guys took a few channels away without even letting me know, WTG!!!!!
What they told you is not true. I am watching Tru TV right now. Channel 902 in the Boston area.
What channel tier do you have?
HD Preferred Extra XF
You probably have every channel
TruTV was taken away from the customers with Digital Economy(100 channels). That's a very large customer base and a very upset one.
After numerous interactions with various Comcast agents the only solution i was given was to switch back to digital and upgrade from economy to digital starter (I am not sure why starter is the second option but that is a different point entirely.) I posted a similar topic that did not gain as much attention. I had hoped to see more of a ground swell but no such luck. I imagine thousands of others suffer in silence.
Thanks. I had a feeling the only way to get my favorite channels was to upgrade. Why would I want 150 channels when the 100 I have now are mostly never-watched bloated sports and music channels. I really only need an a la carte of 30.
I have the 210 channel package and I just signed up for service this week and it's not on mine either. I called up comcast and they told me they no longer carries TruTV plus IDTV and that some cartoon channels are swapped around packages.
Everyone should read their bills.

If I'm reading correctly, TruTV and Disney are on the same package. I have disney, but not TruTV. I get that subscription message when I go to TruTV.
I've spoken to one agent on the phone who said TruTV is not being carried due to a dispute. I chatted with another agent who said it is being carried and did not hear of any news dropping it. So two agents with 2 opposing stories within 15 minutes. Wondering if it affects Comcast nationwide or if it is a regional dispute?
Not cool! Wife not happy at all...she LOVES the Jokers and Carbonaro.
I read in the thread we can't stream it either....Net Neutrality anyone?
I got a response from a Corporate Executive Customer Relations Specialist. (her rsponse in blue).
Cheryl, I read this on my bill:
"Important Account Information, cont.
Xfinity TV Changes Effective May 10, 2018: The Weather Channel will only be available on Limited Basic and new Sports & News tier; Cartoon Network will only be available on Digital Preferred and new Kids & Family tier; Disney Channel will only be available on Expanded Basic, Family Tier and Kids & Family tier; TruTV will only be available on Expanded Basic; Food Network will only be available on Expanded Basic, Family Tier and new Entertainment tier."
We regularly evaluate our channel lineups and sometimes make changes to ensure we're offering customers a wide variety of content at the best value. Additionally, because our business agreement with the a station's owner to carry an out-of-market broadcast station in your area ends, we can no longer provide it as part of our channel lineup.
@brucefon12 wrote:... an out-of-market broadcast station ...
That reply is inaccurate. None of the networks you listed are "broadcast stations". And none of them are "out-of-market" -- they're all national cable&satellite networks. Statements by Executive Customer Relations reps vary from extremely helpful to nonsensical. This one is of the nonsensical variety.
I agree. And I wrote her back pretty close to wha you wrote, and No Response.
I have Super Triple in the Boston area....with my upgrade I lost ID and TruTv so far...I am sure I will find more I lost on my upgrade....
People that have it in a grandfathered package continue to receive trutv. If they switch they lose trutv. I just wish I wasn't being teased with it numerous shows being featured on the xfinity editor's picks and last week even the xfinity home page. (Also i wish I had the channel back, mostly that really.)
Well what is funny is i get pointed to the channel lineup link so i can "see" what channels I am supposed to get...My package says 250+ well in the https://www.xfinity.com/learn/channel-lineup link there is no 250+ lineup there is a 260+ and a 220+...how do i know if I am supposed to have it or not...Chat help is no help and I am not calling wand waiting on hold to find out they can not help...
How long do you have to have the service to get grandfathered?
Am not sure... two generations?
The only reason comcast rearranges packages is so people will upgrade and pay more. I am constantly bombarded with offers for being a loyal customer, but the offers are way more than I am paying now. Now that summer is coming up, I am out more and watch less tv. I will probably cancel my tv and pick up another service for tv. Comcast is the only internet service provider in my area so I am kind of stuck there, but I am satisfied with the internet service. The tv package , not so much
There are so many people cutting the TV cord now, Comcast's only choice is to charge more for the same service. Let's see how well that works in the long run.
Although that may be their endgame, you can't even pay more money to get tru tv back with comcast. I wish they'd employ an al a carte system. They have people's business already, why wouldn't you want customers to receive the programming they want? (Rhetorical - money so on.)
I have so many sports channels that I have no desire to watch, it is frustrating that I'd have to go elsewhere to get something I am actually interested in.
You can pay for TruTV here, I do. They just moved it to a more expensive tier.
Did you change your plan in order to make that happen or is it grandfathered into your package? I realize it is still broadcasted/received, but I have been told numerous times that it has been dropped from current programming (or something like that, am paraphrasing.)
It moved to a higher tier of digital but from what I gathered that is only if you currently have that service/tier. I don't think that Comcast would'be passed up the chance to upsell me.
TruTV has not been dropped. It is available to anyone who chooses to pay for the Preferred package or higher.
