Re: SEC Network Alternate Channel

It's all about the money, and viewership.  The SEC Network just has more potential viewers.

NO! I'm talking about a Comcast Look-up Table which lists Channels used to broadcast the Alternate SEC program.

That's assuming that Comcast uses various different channels. If they only have 1 or 2 channels (to broadcast the Alternate SEC program), then they should list those channel numbers on the web page like all the other providers did.

In fairness to the SEC Channel, we pay Comcast to give us the information and let us know where to find programming.  We should not have to spend hours on a message board tryng to hear from 2-3 Comcast folks.  When channels are added or changed we should get e-mails letting us know.

We, or at least I, do appreciate the personal time the Comcast folks put into this forum, but it reflects poorly on Comcast and not the employees who are here.

How hard would it have been for Comcast to announce all this to its 20 million customers without the customers having to get tidbits from SECN, other message boards and the like?  Comcast still does not have SECN on their channel guide on their web site

483 HBO

http://getsecnetwork.com/channel-finder has been updated.

Point is Ted, we should not have to go to a Comcast forum then to getsecnetwork.com or even directly to getsec.  It should be on the Comcast web site under programming.

I know I am just one customer, but I will leave Comcast if they do not provide my area with the SECN alternate channel in HD.  I mean why do they get it in some states but not Florida?

Re: SEC Network Alternate channels

What about the alternate SEC channel for Tacoma, Wa (zip code 98467)?

Having to add many new channels just to get the SEC Network was disappointing?  But, to find that the Texas A&M game that I  wanted was not available on television because Comcast does not broadcast the alternate channel was a rude surprise.

Responding with "SEC Network determines which game will be available on their primary and alternate channels in each area. More information here: http://www.getsecnetwork.com/#Programming is inadequate because I bought the SEC Network and would expect to have the same access to both channels to others elsewhere in the country enjoy.

As per the SEC Channel finder link: http://getsecnetwork.com/channel-finder

COMCAST XFINITY OFFERS THE SEC NETWORK ON CHANNEL 745 AND 486 HD, OR ON THE ALTERNATE CHANNEL 768 OR 769.

To quickly locate the SEC Network and-or the SEC alternate channels (where available) –

1. Using the silver Comcast remote control and traditional blue on-screen guide, press the Menu button twice, then select Find Shows, then select Sports, then select All Sports – you should be able to scroll through that list up and down to locate the SEC Network in SD or HD.

1. X1 customers with our black on-screen guide. Using the black Comcast remote control, enter in SECN (numbers 7-3-2-6) and the SEC Network should appear as an option near the top of the list. Select and press OK. Or search for the team you are looking to watch. .

The SEC Network Channel Finder tool has been updated to include linear (standard definition) and HD channel locations and the alternate channels (where available). Link below:

http://getsecnetwork.com/channel-finder

As a reminder, Comcast also provides digital access to all SEC Network and SEC Network + events on the WatchESPN app and SECNetwork.com.

According to this web site: http://getsecnetwork.com/ for zip code: 08054
"Comcast XFINITY offers the SEC Network on channel 269/711 and 842/864 HD."

zap2it.com and tvguide.com show for zip code: 08054

864 SECH (HD)

zap2it.com and tvguide.com show for zip code: 22980
710 SEC
913 SECH (HD)

SEC alternate channels are not shown for either zip code.

Note that not all SEC games are shown on the SEC network.
Some games are shown on other networks. For example for one SEC team:
Week 1: SEC network
Week 2: CBS
Week 3: ESPN

Apologies for any confusion. In reviewing your channel lineup for your zip code 22980, I can see that the primary SEC Network is available on channel 710 and in HD on channel 913 as a part of our Digital Preferred package.
