Does anyone have info on the Decades channel for the southcoast region of Mass. Cape Cod, New Bedford, Fall River etc. I know Boston Comcast has it, but we don't have it in this area. Thanks
Since Decades is a broadcast network, a local station must carry it. Stations have "Designated Market Area" (DMA) and Comcast typically cannot carry a station outiside of it's DMA.
The southcoast DMA (Wpri - CBS) does not offer decades, however the Boston DMA (WBZ - CBS) does offer it. I've contacted Comcast about offering it in my DMA until wpri gets their act together.
How do we know what and where the Designated Market Place is? I am looking for Decades and if/when will it be back on Comcast in the San Francisco Bay Area. Decades.com just says 'soon'.
More on DMA....Go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_market and scroll to 'United States'. Right below, it has 'Television'. Click on List of television stations in North America by media market . Then on that page, 'Television Stations in North America' , click on the largest city/county next to you. There you will find a wealth of information.
Suzanne Z 9/1/2018. This coming Monday, 9/3/2018, Decades will not be broadcast. However, Decades.com states that it is coming. This info has been broadcast for the past 3 days by Decades.
