Another weather channel bites the dust!

Another weather channel bites the dust!

After Comcast got rid of the last local weather channel a lot of people were very disappointed. Then I discovered WTXL's Weather Now on channel 209 in Tallahassee, which we use all the time.  Now it appears that channel 209 is changing to an all western station (Death Valley Days, Wyatt Earp, Laramie, etc.). We already have an all western station (STARS Western 160). What gives Comcast? Can't you get us a local weather station and keep it? Is WXTL Weather Now going to be on another channel or is it gone for good? We sure would appreciate a dedicated local weather station that is permanent.

Don't blame Comcast for this one. Comcast can only provide a broadcast (not cable) subchannel if one of the local channels carries it. Your WeatherNow channel was a production of the local channel, which obviously decided that showing westerns on its subchannel was more profitable.

According to Wikipeida, WeatherNation TV is broadcast on WTXL 27.3, which Comcast is passing on. It's likey this was a last-second change that hasn't been updated on Wikipedia. The WTXL website doesn't have a listing of subchannels or local schedule as far as I can tell, nor any press releases. You can try contacting them to find out what is going on:
