billing dispute

I have been calling customer service for 7 days to dispute my father's bill.  I cannot get a response. His bill increased after taxes $50!!!!  with no explanation.  I WILL NOT pay this amount without an explanation.  He is 98 yrs old, on a fixed income.  I need a response in order to pay correctly without disruption in service. thank you

Compare this bill with several past bills and you should find why there was an increase.  It almost sounds as though he was on a promotion and it expired.  Notices of increases and changes can be found in the notes section of the billing statement.
