I recently discovered that I was sent to collections on a bill that I apparently forgot to pay after I canceled service in November. It looks like the very last bill went unpaid. After much confusion I have learned that the collection agency has my address as the old service address, not the billing address that was used for the account. I was not set up to receive mail at the service address. so I had no idea I still owed this bill or that it was sent to collections. I also never received anything from Comcast. I can't tell if they suddenly started sending everything to the incorrect address as well, even though all bills during service were sent to the correct location. My credit has been seriously damaged by this situation and although I tried to resolve this in a chat with a service rep I'm still unsure of if or how to get the collection action deleted from my credit report and not simply marked off as paid in full. Any advice?
