Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

I realized today that Comcast has been overcharging in the amount of $16.95 for the last 4 months...I called customer service today and they agreed with me.  They of course apologized and then gave me a credit for only 3 of the 4 months they have been overcharging me.  The nice representative said she was not authorized to credit me for the 4th month even though she agrees I was overcharged.  I then spoke with her supervisor.  She again agrees that I was overcharged but would not give me a credit/refund.  She said that when I pay my bill I am in essence agreeing to the bill in front of me and agree to pay any overcharges on the bill...what??  Since when??  I told her that is not what I am agreeing to and that specific month's bill was so confusing because that is when I changed my service...to get a lower bill.  Again she agrees I was overcharged but said she will not give me the credit--that is Comcast's 'policy'.  REALLY??!!  I have been a loyal Comcast customer and always on time with my bill and you are telling me that if Comcast KNOWS that they over charged me on my bill and I don't catch it in time I am screwed out of that money?  That is apparently Comcast's policy!!!  WOW--time to take my business elsewhere...

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Comcast reps discovered they had been charging me over $10/month for a cable box I'd returned over 6 months ago every month and they only say they credited me for for up to 6 months "since their records don't go back any further." Comcast is a crock.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Comcast has also been overcharging us for service.  We had a bundled package.  They doubled the modem charges and began charging us for unpublished service even though we never requested such.  The representative basically called me a liar and told me that a call I made in June about  lack of service was when I requested this service. I just gave them a really bad review on "Yelp."  I am also filing a complaint with the FCC since the representative would not tell me that I would get a refund for the other three months of charges.

Don't just complain here!

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Very similar situation here! Called Comcast today as our bill just didn't seem right to me. SEVERAL ISSUES---

1. We have been getting ovecharged on internet service and modem fee's since the end of May

2. We were told it is our responsibility to check our bill to make sure we are paying the right amount

3. I cannot locate bills that were supposedly being emailed to me, I see no evidence of them and I cannot look at my bill when I login to my Comcast Account

4. Was told that they can only refund up to 5 months per company policy and that it was a nice gesture on their part

5. They have no way to check whether a modem is active or not

6. Was told that they don't know a customers situation in home whether they have a desktop and a lap top, etc. running separately on two different modems (still confused on this one)

I am absolutely APALLED by their actions and lack of action in refunding the money which has basically been stolen over the last 7 months.

We've been a faithful customer for over 6 years and have turned lots of people onto to Comcast, due to fast and usually uninterrupted service. They have now lost a faithful customer and will never receive our

recommendations again, in fact quite the contrary!

The rep was just doing her job and I get that, but the way I was treated as if I am in the wrong, an irresponsible being and that it is OK for them to take people's hard earned money if they don't realize it's happening is just disgusting.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

I had Dish Network for20 years and have never had to call them. We decided to change to Comast when we learned that it didn't go out when it rains. From the first month they over charged us. First it was pay per view movies. We were on vacation and there was no one home, on our next bill we had movies charged to our account. I called and they sent it to their escallations department to have the movies credited. They said someone would get back with us. Of couse no one did so I called back and they said that a decision had been made and I needed to be educated on how to use our pay per view system. The biggest problem is now the amount of boxes being added to our account. As of last month we were up to 9. They were over charging us by four boxes and increased the monthly charge on all of them. I had two Comcast reps come to my home. He scanned all of my boxes and and i took him through all of the rooms in my house to prove that we only had 5. It has taken me hours of time and numerous phone calls to get over 300.00 credited back to my account for the last 6 months. I also had 4 more pay per views on my account this month alone. This is criminal and they don't care. I have had all of the representatives say I dont understand why you are not being credited money that you do not owe??? This is crazy. I think their tactic is to wear you down with calls and hold time so you will just pay the bill. Only when I asked them about the legal process and they see that I am changing service did they take the 4 extra boxes off and credit me the charges for the 4 extra boxed that i don't have. The stress and wasted time is just not worth it and not to mention the money that you are forced to pay to keep your service on. I would NEVER recommend Comcast to anyone unless you want to add more stress and frustration into your life. The TV service is great but not worth the stress. I also can not see my monthly bill on the computer, do not ever agree to have it all online because you wont be able to view the bill. You will only be able to pay what they say is due. BEWARE!!!!!!

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Sorry for your pain.....we're all in this together. We were charged a fee that we shouldn't have been. At our local Comcast office yesterday, we were told "nobody is authorized" to remove a fee. I think that's their "out". When there's a problem, the only workers around are the ones accepting our payments. We had to pay a charge we didn't owe, or Comcast would keep adding on late fees. Sometimes, we have to pay to learn that we've been took. Smiley Sad

I'm excited about the thought of  loading up all the Comcast stuff and dumping it on their desk next week! We've been loyal customers since the 90's.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

You can try one or both of the following:

a.  Send an email to the 'escalation department'  We_can_help@cable.comcast.com

Include:  account holder's name, account number, service addy, description of problem and/or link to your post, daytime phone.

Usually they respond.  Some folks have had a mixed bag of results:  some problems sorted, others get a feel-good call from someone higher up.  Worth a try, however.

b.  File a complaint with your local Better Business Bureau and include the same info.  It's always helpful to have all your duckies in a row (e.g. facts) with dates/times etc.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

I have been overcharged for 12 months for a $16 DVR box. I noticed it when Dish made an offer to switch at half the price. I called Comcast and they gave me the same line- checking bill is my responsibility, records only go back 6 months and best they could do was 3 month rebate. As a long time customer I was stunned. This is really just fraud and I informed them I wanted all my money refunded...waiting for a response and it took me 1 hr to just get to that point. I find it incredible that a company can take that position knowing that they charged you for a product that was never received and rather than just fess up and make it right they turned into a negotiation.

At this point I am so disappointed with the ethics of that position regardless of what they decide that I may switch, really shameful in my view.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Comcast has overcharged me too! My husband and I had to go out of town this summer for a family emergency (son was in ICU for 4 weeks). When I called Comcast and explained to a specialist what was going on, she informed me that I could put my service on a vacation hold. I told her that I did not know when we would be returning home. We were gone 3 months. I paid approx. $16 a month for the hold. When we finally were able to return home I called Comcast to let them know but unfortunately they decided to bill me for two months, one month of which we had a vacation hold, and paid for it. Apparently Comcast took it upon themselves to determine when I returned home. I have since asked for a refund and have not recieved one. Their website contains confusing amounts to what I owe and credits that look like their pending. When I called to talk with a rep from Comcast they didn/t seem to be viewing the same information that I was on their website. I used to get pretty good customer service from them but in the last two months I have gotten reps who could only tell me what I owe rather than help me. What are they being paid for?

We were also charged.. status was upgrade to reduce special offer experation...we chose to pay more now to save more later.. upgrade date.. 11-15-2012... bill release 24th, received by mail today 30th..

we were double charged for solo internet special but at rollover full price. woppsy comcast..not up in this mutha !... I desputed charges today the 30th upon notice recieved. .. origial crime hold up price.. 273.31.

Price after me holding a blank to their heads....    219.22...   but they got a shot off with service fees..   if i didnt upgrade and make changes before special experations..   150-160bucks...   they're good..but rob me twice and ill start taking the internet for free...fools!

PS: if you dont catch every single charge before you pay and reduce your bill cycle...in some states their policy to not refund after a dispute settlement is state law and can also work in your favor, im from GA...its as good as accepting an empty wallet..ask any judge...know your facts this is how. this i why!... Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

I am a Comcast customer, and have been one for the past 1 1/2 years. I switched from Verizon when the Comcast guy came to my door.

Last May 2012, when my first year was completed, my bill increased and after reviewing it and comparing it to the agreement I signed when we first got our service, I discovered we were being overcharged. I called Comcast, and the person I spoke to said I needed to go into the local office (Redrum Drive in Ashburn) and show them the agreement I signed and they would correct the error. I did that, and the bill was corrected.

A couple weeks ago I got my December bill, and the charges I had the Redrum office correct in May 2012 reappeared. I called and the person I talked to would only credit my bill for the current month. She said to get it corrected for future months, I would have to go back into the Redrum office and show them my agreement again. I pointed out that I had already done this, and that is why these charges were credited in May, but she wouldn't correct the billing error going forward.

In addition, I am experiencing similar problems as I manage my Mother-in-law's Comcast account in New Jersey--overcharging, etc. When I reviewed her bills in early December, I noticed that she was being overcharged and made several phone calls to Comcast to get the charges credited--ie Comcast was charging for an HD "technology fee" (she doesn't even have HD). When I reviewed her most recent bill, I noticed that there were more erroneous charges added to her account, which I thought I had corrected in early December. It almost seems like they add stuff if you find overcharges, so they keep getting the same amount.

A Comcast serviceman went to fix her internet, which had not been usable for at least 9 months. The serviceman told the people at the service address that the modem was no longer working. He replaced it with a new wireless modem. The January bill includes not only the charge for the cable modem which the serviceman removed and which was no longer functioning, but also a charge for the new wireless modem. They no longer have the non-functioning modem, but are still being charged! Comcast told me they have to return it. The serviceman took it with him!

Once the internet was working, the Norton Virus message stated that the virus software had not been updated in "257 days". That is the length of time the modem was not working. Comcast credited 90 days of internet service (the person I talked to told me they could tell it hadn't been working for at least 90 days), but she would not credit the additional 167 days of internet service that was not being provided while the modem was not functioning.

I followed the advice of MissyLaneous and sent We_can_help@cable.comcast.com a note about the above, and I will contact the BBB if I don't get a response. Also, I have to call from my cell phone because if I call from my home phone about my account, the calls get disconnected--it happened 3 times.

I will keep everyone posted here about what happens. Sounds like a class action suit to me!

It is interesting how COMCAST can  over charging you time and time again, but when it comes to make it right to the customer they don’t have a problem saying SORRY can’t help you.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

I also just found out that I has been overcharged for over 2 years for digital box I already returned.  I didn't catch the error at that time as I also updated my service.

A month ago, I returned another digital box and this time I noticed my bill didn't decrease.  When I stopped by service station, they told me that I am currently charged for 3 digital boxes when I only have one.  He asked me to call customer service to open a ticket to investigate this issue.

When I called Comcast, I was blamed not been responsible for checking my bill carefully and customer representative only offered to give me refund for 3 months back.  I told her that I understand I was responsible but I believe that Comcast was also responsible on making sure there is no mistake when they charge bill to their customer.  She replied, “people makes mistake."

Then I asked her to transfer me to her supervisor.  She said that I could talk to her supervisor but result would be the same.  She said that she knew this because she got the same complain all the time.  All the time?  This means Comcast make this mistake all the time.

Initially her supervisor offered me 3 months due to their policy but changed to 6 months when I referred to some customers on forums who received 6 months.  I later found thread saying he was overcharged for 4 years then got refund for approx. 1 year back.... why so inconsistent?

I am thinking to switch my TV/internet/phone provider to different company because I experienced really bad customer service on this.  Also Comcast made the same mistake twice in row.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Just because you paid the bill which is a good consumer thing to do, still, paying the bill is not saying you "agree" w/it.  Whoever you spoke w/needs to be reprimanded & provide you w/an apology.  That's so WRONG!  Do not give up trying to get your entire refund, which may be what they're hoping for.  Remember the old saying, "The squeaky wheel gets the most oil". Don't give up!

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

I think that Comcast make it very hard for customer to get refund.

I sent email to Customer relation team after I posted on this thread.  Next day they called me and left message at my home phone.  She gave me phone number for Executive Customer Relations and 8 digit extension.  When I call the number, I was asked to enter 7 digit extension.  Since I only have 8 digit extension, I left message to the main line.  A few days later, I got email notifying me that I missed their call.  The email contains her 7 digit extension so I called her back.  Since it was answering machine, I left message saying that the best time to reach me is afternoon at my cell.  However, she kept calling my home or in the morning to my cell.  I left message again last Friday but she hasn't called me back.

This is ridiculous.

I am going to switch my service to different providers so I probably should give up and move on.  But I really would like to get explanation from Comcast on why Equipment section on my account on their web site is different from actual equipment you are billed.  Before/After I returned my equipment, I checked my account and the equipment was immediately removed.  However, the equipment still exist on my actual billing.  How this could happen?

Frequent Visitor

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

I finally could talk to the person in executive customer relations department.  The resolution was the same, 6 month refund.  There was no explanation on why the equipment on my account does not match with actual billing.  In addition, she said that this is uncommon issue.  I don't believe her as it happened to me 100% of times (in addition to modem they tried to overcharge when I used to use my own modem before phone service was added).  Also I just talked to my co-worker and he said that it happened to him too.  They overcharged him on his own modem for 1.5 years.  But he said that he could get full refund from Comcast at that time (happened a long time ago).

I just signed up my TV and phone service to different provider so I am returning all equipments. I guess that they will try to overcharge me again on these equipments after I cancel service.  Let's see.

Re: Comcast Charging For Services Not Rendered

Had an FBI virus in June which locked the computer and prevented internet access. Xfinity  techs thought they could resolve it remotely. they said the cost would be $129.95 but if they couldn't fix it, they wouldn't charge my credit card. They couldn't resolve it, and said they would have to schedule someone to come  out. Since their remote services failed, Xfinity said they wouldn't charge my card. They did anyway. Trying to get them to see their mistake is like pulling teeth! I disputed the charge with my credit card company, Xfinity responded that services were rendered, so the charge remained. Spent three hours on the phone and Comcast would transfer me to Xfinity, who would transfer me to Comcast etc. I complained to supervises to no avail. These morons kept saying it's "policy" to not tell you who you are dealing with. These people are not your friends They're nice and polite when they think you might do business with them-- but woe unto you if you have an issue for them to deal with. They couldn't give you the time of day. They tried to throw in the part about "you only have 30 days to address an issue" NOT TRUE. Federal law says you have way more than 30 days. I think federal law trumps Compacts "policy"   Comcast apparently hopes if they stone wall you enough, you'll get frustrated and go away. Not likely, since these people absolutely refuse to listen to reason, next step is to bring in an attorney.

Re: Comcast Charging For Services Not Rendered

Comcast is overcharging me again on my current bill.  I cannot believe this.

They include the following item in my bill but they removed preferred channels a few days ago!

Digital Preferred 08/08 - 09/07 18.00

When I noticed I cannot see some channels like NFL network anymore, I didn't care because I am switching TV provider this week and thought that they accidently removed the digital preferred from my account. But when I checked my bill today, I realized that they are charging me these channels.

I already switched Phone provider so as soon as I get TV service set up, I am retuning all equipments.  I don't want to deal with their billing error anymore.

Count me on this list too. Just found out that Comcast has been charging me an extra $7/month for the past 5 months. The rep credited me for 3 months, but when I asked for the remaining 2 months, she quickly shot back, "We are only required by law to go back 3 months." Way to make me feel valued Comcast. Who cares what the law says? How about customer service? If they found a billing error in their favor, I'm sure they would go back further than 3 months. Can't wait until Google Fiber comes to my area and we actually have a choice.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

I ordered comcast about a year ago, I was quoted a price of 106$ and change from day one my bill has not been 106$ i called and tried to get it fixed they said I was incorrect that my bill was, I took my original receipt back into the store talked to the same person that quoted me he readjusted the bill, I made my payments of 106$ but was being charged more than what I was quoted till now, I was offered the security camera for free for a year, not knowing I was actually being charged for ths every month! I watched my bill rise as I only paid the 106$ a month, so today 05/17/2014 I called in to find out why I owed 260$ for 1month she tried to explain the bill telling that what I was quoted was wrong! "well I was quoted by your staff, I have a receipt showing this" I tell her to cancel some of the services and she then tells me that my bill has been credited 19.95$, so everything I was charged I still had to pay and they would not credit the rest so I have given COMCAST more than 200$ for free as they say I agreed to it. How is it that none of my other bills do this to me? How is it that can just steal from thier customers? There has got to be something I can do to get MY $ back! Does anyone know how to resolve this with out going into office for another 2 hrs or on the phone for 1hr? I think that I should be able to charge them for MY time I hav wasted trying to keep the services!!!!!!!!!!! I am looking for new services now! i heard direct tv does not do this to you!

there policy is basically. we will steal money from your account if you didn't notice. when you catch us we will only refund the last 15 days. even by their horondous standards, i caught them twice and nothing happens.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

We called in on 4/21/14 to cancel our residential phone and internet on the same day that comcast business was out to start those services with them..They installed a new modem and took the residential modem with them. The person we talked with that day did not put in a cancelation notice but did break up our package, causing our bill to go up $68.74. What we received our next bill we assumed this was for business and residential services. It wasn't until business called to see why we hadn't been paying their bill, which we never received, that we realized we had been overcharged by residential. At this point we started calling to request a refund for services that we had canceled...and didn't even have the equipment to use. We have been tossed around, explained the situation over and over with no resolution. They have denied our request twice but nobody that has any authority will talk to us. I've been lied to over and over. Someone or some computer system messed up and we are paying the price for it...

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

i was previously charged for 6 months for cable modem rental, even though, when my service was activated it was put in as customer owned and showed correctly on the bill for 4 months. I was then charged for HD tv with no box, i only have internet. Now i'm being charged for HBO...

Here is the email i sent them.

I called when the bill was first emailed and I was told this was being corrected. It wasn't and I was billed. The history of fraudulent charges I have had in my 2 years with comcast is ridiculous.

I have internet ONLY; how exactly can i be subscribed to HBO? Let's go ahead and also consider WHO authorized comcast to add the service to my account?

I want the 15$ charge removed, the taxes adjusted and i expect Comcast to show some good faith in the form of account credits. I should not have to call every 2 months because simple billing can't be done correctly.

I expect a response by Tuesday, end of business AT THE LATEST. Comcast is not my only option here, i stay with comcast because the service is good (no, i am not referring to customer service). Do the right thing. I have not yet filed a complaint with the BBB, as I hope you guys are willing and able to handle this without outside influence. This is the last time I will afford Comcast this courtesy though.

I had similar issue with Comcast.

Comcast has charged me twice for monthly service fee in the amount of $39.95 times two. My bank credit one $39.95 back to my account. Now Comcast insists that I need to pay $39.95 for same month plus 2 times later fee. I double checked with my bank that Comcast did chàrged twice at same day. I called customer service today and went to local service center, no representative can help me to solve the problem. I'm a good Comcast customer and always on time with my bill and now you are charging me additional month of service fee and later fee with no reason. Is this a Comcast's normal policy!!! Does Comcast want to kick out customer to elsewhere?

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Let me add my voice to the growing crowd. Last October 2013, my wife added our home phone to a new HD Preferred XF Bundle that Comcast promised would save us money. Surprise, our bill almost doubled to over $ 350 / month.  She also signed up for online billing which made seeing details of account charges very difficult.  I had to print out each monthly bill for the past year. It was only then, in Oct of this year, that I discovered that we were still being charged for our Digital Preferred , even though it was included in the new bundle , which we were also being billed for. I called and the service rep. verified that there were major errors in our bill. He agreed that we were being double billed for everthing in the bundle, being billed for extra outlets that we do not have, billed for equipment ( modems & boxes ) that we no longer had, double billed for HBO and double billed for extra technology fees that were also covered in the new bundle. He put in a ticket to get these double charges reimbursed and the double-billing stopped. Neither has happened yet. I have called back three times since then and gotten further promises that the matter would be elevated to supervision and should be resolved within 72 hours. Nothing has happened yet after any of these subsequent calls. Just seems like empty promises but no results. Comcast's customer reponse simply falls apart in the follow-up to the initial complaint. We have been double-billed for services for over 13 months now and for the last three months, after numerous phone calls and promises that the matter will be "elevated" and resolved within days, nothing has happened.  I called again last week and got more apologies and promises, then again today. Was told today "supervision" had not had a chance to review the matter. Customer response is not just bad, it"s virtually non-existant. Now our access to OnDemand has been cut off for the last two weeks because we have refused to pay the fraudulent over-billing charges. Service rep. says she can't fix that because it's another department.
If the double-billing issue is not stopped and the reimbursement of all of these 13 months of overcharges ( over $ 100 per month by the first service rep.'s count ) has not taken place by the 15th of January, I am goingt to contact our local franchise authority, the Better Business Bureau and our state regulators about this fraudulent over-billing and unresponsiveness to rectify the problems on Comcast's part.

Sounds like class-action lawsuit time, as this appears to be a corporate policy of theft and, because of their fraudulent billing, mail fraud and racketeering. By the way, those last two are federal offenses, in case they didn't know.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Hi, Similar experience for me as well for overcharging for last 7 months  and then being hung up by comcast customer service when asking for full refund. I have sent below email to the We_can_help@cable.comcast.com email and waiting for the response now.

Hello,

I have been overcharged in last 6 months and I am requesting your assistance in resolving the below issue. I will be grateful if you can help resolve this for me.

  1. Service address: 11, XXX Drive, YYY, NJ,0000
  2. The full name on your account: Shiv G
  3. Home phone number & an alternate number where you can be reached if possible: XXX-XXX-XXX
  4. Your Comcast Account number: XXXXXXXXX10095
  5. A link to this Thread: http://forums.comcast.com/t5/Billing/Comcast-Overcharging-But-Won-t-Refund/td-p/1403225
  6. A detailed description of the problem: I have been overcharged since July 2014. My bill till last June was 126.58. From July my bill automatically shot up to $277.22 and then for the rest of 6 months it was 193.22. I never requested any change to my service in June. As outlined below please help me refund $550.48. I had contacted comcast customer service and I talked to Keisha / Clara (OV2). They disconnected the call after saying that they can only credit me $200 and no more. When I asked to talk to someone else that is when they hung up on me.

Total Charge to me in last 7 bills  = 277.22 + 6*193.22 = 1436.54

Actual bill that should have been charged =  7*126.58 = $886.06

Total Overcharge = $550.48

I will really appreciate if you can help resolve this matter by refunding me the overcharged amount.

Regards,
Shiv G

I had a similar experienced.

In fact, we've decided to send out emails to all comcast customers searching for customers who has had similar late charges.

These type of unethical practices are far more common than we originally thought. So far the number of reponses have been staggering.

If you want change join us by replying to this post or emailing me at kflocker@comcast.net and join our class action lawsuit .

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Hi, I recently upgraded service on 1/03/15. I was charged for half a month at the upgrade rate and half a month at my old service rate. I am being double charged for the use of a cable box (i have one) and the double use of a gateway (i have one). I was told the total cost of my first bill was 230.00 and the bill came out to 320.00. After an hour of talking to an online agent and wasting time I will never get back she or he left the chat and I can not get a response from them on the matter. Basically at the end of my 30 days I'm cancelling the service and having verizon come out. I'll be leavig the comcast equipment in a box on my porch and reporting it to the better business bureau unless somehow they manage to provide customer service and an updated bill I'd happily stand in the cold in philadelphia and protest comcast. the business has no respect or consideration for its customers.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Same Issue requesting a simple refund of a large credit  to my account.

I switched to a Seasonal ( Shutdown)  service plan at the end of October. The seasonal allows people with vacation properties etc to keep their Comcast acct but have basically all the services shutdown for  around $12 a month and that rate is good for about 6 months. 3.5 weeks later I was autobilled $221 leaving me with a credit of over $160.

When I called The Comcast billing department I experienced

The typical  confusion of their  Reps on policy and proceedures and an inability  to resolve  very simple issues. I experienced the familiar Comcast  stall tactics to get you to dismiss your concerns asap. Where their Reps start out saying helping you is not possible, then go to a lengthy  state of confusion on the process and they are not sure why you are having this problem then put you on hold for lengthy periods of time to check something. When they  finally appear back on the line nothing has been moved forward and you are forced to request Manager assistance - which, btw  rarely is available.

Good luck.

Well I guess I am not the only one going through this.  Now I wonder when is someone going to finally do something about this.  As well as you,  I am about to close my account and switching to another company.

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

Hello,

I had sent the previous email on 7th January regarding the issue that i mentioned in my previous post, but still no response either from comcast customer service or from the email that I sent to we_can_help@cable.comcast.com.

At the end of customer service call, I participated in the survey and chose to be contacted regarding the issue. No one contacted me yet.

Issue:

Total Charge to me in last 7 bills  = 277.22 + 6*193.22 = 1436.54

Actual bill that should have been charged =  7*126.58 = $886.06

Total Overcharge = $550.48

The irony is that the bill is still not reduced from 193.22 to 126.58.

I will call again to customer service / follow up wth the email. Looks like system is completely broken at comcast now with no accountability / responsibility...

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

This is the email I sent to the link regarding my horrible experience with Comcast Customer Service folks in the boiler room office in Europe. I did include all of my account information for them.

Hello

I have been a loyal Comcast customer since we moved to remote Rio Vista, CA in 12-10-2009. When we began our high speed internet service and added Blast!, which was  supposed to be the very fastest available. They promised 50 Mbps on the upload and 10 Mbps on the download. Now I find out we don’t even have fiber optic cable and have been getting our internet via a local cell tower. The true upload speeds are  7.4 Mbps to 13.6 Mbps and the download is 2.4 Mbps. At 2.4 Mbps the little gear on my MacBook Pro just spins and spins, taking and wasting my valuable time. I started out at $10 per month back in 2009 and now it’s up to $12 a month. I called customer service which by the way, was outsourced to somewhere in Europe and was rudely informed they could only credit me $130 which would be credited over a 1 year period.
It feels real bad to be ripped of this bad. I didn’t even get a kiss when they screwed me out of, between $720 and $864. The very nasty customer service reps even hung up on me and  put me through endless recorded phone loupes. None of them would allow me to speak with a Customer Service Supervisor. Needless to say, I don’t even have words to express my frustration with Comcast. I’m shocked and outraged!!! I have never heard of shabby and rude treatment  like this from a Fortune 500 company before!!!
Comcast, I hope you take this injustice serious and get to the bottom of this outrageous treatment and disregard for your loyal customers.

Sincerely and hopeful for staff changes.

Try getting in touch with local media - "Seven on your side". Show them this thread; print it out, if possible, as much as you can . Bad news publicity is often helpful. Good luck!

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

I am with you! Taking my business elsewhere! Tired of being charged a fee for a technician visit they told me would be free. I did not pay the fee. I contacted a customer service representative who looked at my history and agreed the technician fee of $70.00 should be removed. However, it remains on my bill and I'm still trying to have it removed. It's too late to keep me as a Comcast customer. They charge too much for the service anyway!

Re: Comcast Overcharging But Won't Refund

I'm very dissapointed that my bill went up $30.00 without any warning from Comcast that my contract had expired!!

There wasn't any offer to reduce the $30.00 whatsoever! The cost is high enough as it is, without deceiving your customers out of more money!!
