I have been charged with a $10 equipment rental fee each month even though I have been using my own modem the entire time. I initially indicated that I had my own modem as well. Is there a way for this charge to be removed from my bill, and for me to get credit back from paying the rental fees? Thanks.

is the equipment rental fee for the modem or for the tri-band netgear nighthawl router? i ahve gigbait internet in Nashville, TN. I'd like to avoid the charge monthly as well.
Hi cjzerocool -- The equipment rental fee would be for both the modem and router in this case as those two items go together. The nighthawk router is issued with the TC4400 CMT modem as a set. Both devices would need to be returned in order to avoid the rental charge.
