The XFINITY TV app for Samsung smart TVs is still in active development. We haven't announced a release date yet.

You are confusing me Dan.

 

The "Ultra HD Sampler" has been around since May 2016. I have watched everything ever put on the app. The announcement on the app was back then and still pinned under a different posting section. The app has been a work in progress since before that date.

Sorry if my post was confusing. I am not referring to the Ultra HD Sampler app. I'm am referring to an "XFINITY TV" app which will be similar to the Roku app which is also in development.

Is there timing for the Xfinity app for Samsung yet.  I recently bought a Samsung Smart TV with the promise of the Xfinity app....Any sense yet of when that will be live?

Pending a firmware update from Samsung. Timing is TBD until that is ready and tested. Sorry for the delay.

Avoiding cable box and using smart TV

I need to fill a new house with TVs (4). I'm looking at using Comcast as my provider and buying Samsung TV's. I see that the built in app is not ready but the rep told me I can download it as long as the TV has a Play Store download capability. Is this correct, is there a particular Samsung model I should look for, and do these TV's have update capability like a computer so I can add your app separately when it is ready (vs. being locked into hardware restrictions once I buy it)?
