Not getting email notification

Installed the connect app on my Samsung tablet. Shouldn't  I get a notification for new mail? 

I have notifications turned on in app settings.

Just a thought on something you might want to check.  On the tablet itself, when you go into your Android settings and select Notifications, scroll down the list of apps that it displays until you find the Connect App and select it.  Review the list of settings there to make sure they are set the way you want them to be.  In my own personal case, I have all of the options with their round buttons on the left side of the slider so that they are off at this level meaning they are not being blocked.  Within the Connect App itself I have my notifications turned on there so that I do get notifications of incoming emails and the like.
