VPN Filter check tool

Norton Sysmantic has/had a VPN filter check tool webpage. http://www.securityresponse.symantic.com/filtercheck or http://www.symantic.com/filtercheck Just used it last night, now it reroutes to https://www.symantec.com/security-center.

Anybody know whats going on?

Here is the link on sysmantics webpage. https://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/check-your-router-vpnfilter

No idea what is going on with the redirects - other than the topic pages pertain to the Enterprise edition of Norton, not totally the same as the residential users Norton.

Also the VPN Tool lnk is dated Jul 2018 and most of the  links on that page are also from 2018.

Sorry I can't be more help - perhaps someone else can add more info.

@USAF_E-8_RET

Thanks for the reply!

Yep, it`s funny that they would just take it down with out some kind of explanation. Messaged Norton thru facebook, there response was "Sorry, We are not trained to help with Symantic products".

Wonder if the new owners of Symantic (Broadcom) is responsable for taking it down without warning?

Even though my router is not on the list, it provided peace of mind to use it now and then.

Maybe someone from Norton/Symantic/Broadcom will see the post and answer it?

Pretty sad that Norton has a dead end link on an article they produced with out any explanation of why their tool is not available anymore.

Re: VPN Filter check tool

It was a year and a half ago. Perhaps it was taken down as it is no longer an issue / no longer needed ?;

@EG

Then they need to put it in an update on that page, as they updated every situation. And it was only a month ago when I used the tool, as I stated before.

Communication is key in any security breach, and Norton is not communicating the threat as they should.

Have you tried complaining on the Norton help forums ? Exposure to actual Norton employees is likely to be greater than it is here.
